Research

I am a recent dance studies graduate at the entry point in my research journey. My choreographic practice lies in the expanded field and focuses on choreographic and headphonic scores using improvisation in site-responsive performance.

With an interest in the relationship between humans and non-humans, my research pays particular attention to how we/humans can attune with other species including fungi, plants, rocks and soils and creates response-able encounters using prompts and poetics. These scores attempt to challenge a historically white hetero-cisgender male understanding of knowledge, to prioritise embodied knowledge and non-human forms of intelligence. This research leans into works by theorists and artists who disrupt and trouble binary and anthropomorphic ways of thinking.
